Zombie Lake (1981)

Goofs

Zombie Lake

Edit

Continuity

When the German soldier zombies emerge from the lake to kill the two investigators, they are completely dry in all following shots.
When the woman is swimming in the lake during the opening credits, the water lilies on the water surface disappear or appear between shots outside the water and underwater.
When one zombie attacks a woman who was adjusting her leggings, the woman's right black shoe falls off. In the next shot it's back on again.
The zombie who attacks the woman who is making the dough has normal pink hands as he emerges from the lake. But when he jumps out at her and attacks her on the street, his hands are green and rotting.
When the German soldiers are thrown into the river, one soldier's boots are stolen, and he is thrown in with only socks on. When all the zombies emerge from the lake, every zombie has boots on.

Revealing mistakes

It's very obvious that all the "underwater" shots of the lake were shot in a swimming pool: during the first murder of the girl after the opening credits, you can even see an exit sign through the water. Near the end of the movie, as the Zombie are rising to the top, we can clearly see a bare pool wall.
During the ambush, one of the German soldiers get shot in the eye. When he leans back you can clearly see a transparent tube though which fake blood is being pumped.
One of the "dead" German soldiers holds his arms out to cushion his landing in the lake, when he's thrown in. One soldier also puts his arms out and begins to swim.
One of the Zombies while underwater and attacking the girls basketball team is clearly wearing a head mask as it doesn't quite cover all the hair around his ears.
When the zombie is chewing at the woman's neck on the street, she dies, and he then continues to bite her. As the camera pans around them, she really clearly blinks two times.

Miscellaneous

The film is supposed to take place some time in the 1950s nearly 10 years after World War 2 has ended and possibly more, yet most of the zombie's rate of decomposition indicates that they had died much sooner than that.

Anachronisms

Set in the 1950s, this movie reveals modern housing, roads, signs, etc.
During the winter battle scene, set during World War II, a modern-day bus can be seen driving by to the left of the fort.

Crew or equipment visible

When the woman in the opening credits is taking off her clothes, she is about to take a blue pair of shorts from her bag, but decided against it. As she does, you can see a crew member aimlessly wandering around in the bushes behind her.
When the reporter and the mayor enter the study, the cameraman can be seen in a mirror.
When Katya goes to visit the mayor for the first time, the power cables for the camera and lights are strewn across the mayor's living room floor.
After the Mayor tells the story about the German soldiers to Katya, they stand up. The mirror behind Katya has a large black sheet covering it in this shot. It wasn't there before.
In the very first shot of the mayor's study, the camera pans along. As it passes a large mirror, the head of a crew-member is reflected in it.
