Larry Hankin is one of those faces that you'll immediately recognize but whose name you don't know. He's made guest appearances in a bazillion shows over the years and in the case of "Solly's Diner", he's not just acting but doing practically everything! The film begins with a weird guy, Sometimes Jones (Hankin), trying to rob a lady in a late night diner. However, in the middle of his robbery, ANOTHER robber arrives and holds up the place! Jones' reactions, however, are just plain bizarre and he soon tries to work out a deal where they both can split the money. And from here, it only gets weirder! Overall, despite a cheap looking print (after all, the film is over 30 years old), the film is quite cute and worth seeing. Not brilliant but well done. By the way, two other VERY familiar faces to TV but whose names you'd never recognize are also in this short--Paul Willson and Roger Bowen.

One thing about short film is the lightness, you tell a simple story with a twist, and everyone have a good laugh.
