Sex & Nudity

  • Suggested MPAA rating: G or very mild PG for brief violence and thematic material
  • A good part of the play is set in a tavern/brothel, and some of the characters are prostitutes. No sex is ever seen or really even discussed, however. This is all consistent with the play, and this behavior is not condoned.

Violence & Gore

  • Two highwaymen attack and rob a procession of pilgrims on pilgrimage
  • There is a battle at the end, but very little violence is seen, and none of it is graphic

Profanity

  • None whatsoever. The film follows Shakespeare's play exactly.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • A good deal of this film is set in a tavern where constant drinking and drunkenness occurs. This behavior is not condoned, however.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Nothing particularly frightening or disturbing, except for some mild violence (see "Violence and Gore").
  • Overall, this film is entirely family-friendly and has a good and moral message
