| Plot Summary |
"The Dancing Hawk" refers to the son of a peasant who senses he can climb the ladder in troubled times by playing his cards right. Education helps him realize his ambitions, and he gradually reaches the social position he desires. But the costs include a dehumanized soul and a loss of moral compass. Also the people around him have to pay the price for his advancement.
