Daisy Bunsen is a little girl who hates to read, and vehemently protests having to read The Wizard of Oz, since she has already seen the movie. "Reading and writing and 'rithmetic makes me sick!". While carelessly entering and punching controls on a "voebelfetzer," her friends' science fair project, which transports her to the future, which is ruled by an Elvis impersonator called The Grand Poloni, who wants children to remain ignorant and playing video games. When she refuses to burn the book, she is placed on trial, in which a robot called the Magnificent Major defends her by having her read the book aloud.
