When Theresa enters her classroom late, Al the children are running around and a boy is banging on the piano. When she finally gets the student's attention, the piano stops playing, but the boy that was playing it, appears on the other side of the room.
In Theresa's apartment there are endless scenes of screaming and raging, crashing and busting up of possessions, late night comings and goings. In real life she would've been visited by the police constantly, and not been allowed to stay in the apartment.
Theresa is supposed to be a first-grade teacher, but all her students look to be way older. The youngest seem to be 9 or 10 while the oldest could be 12, 13 or even older.
Just after James comes to Theresa's apartment to cook her dinner, a thin boom mic can be clearly seen in the upper right part of the screen, right in front of her "Punctuation Pointers" sign for school.
