During the scene when Hazel and L.T. first meet, it's mentioned repeatedly that he will do the job for her for $5,000. Then, when she shows him the room where he'll be staying, for no apparent reason, she turns to him and says the total pay for the job is 10,000, but she'll take her cut of half, which leaves him, as she repeats--do the math--5,000, this despite his having affirmed the figure every time it had previously been mentioned, and he could hardly have forgotten in the short time elapsed since it was first brought up.
