Anachronisms

The film is supposed to be set in the 1950s but all the characters (especially male characters) have more modern 1970s hairstyles with Afros and sideburns that were not in style during the 1950s.
Though set in the 1950s, there are many 1970s style cans and bottles of Budweiser, Coors, Miller, and Pabst Blue Ribbon.
Many post-1950s vehicles are seen in the film including 1970s-style Cadillacs and Lincoln Continentals.
The film begins in 1958. But when Stix gets to work at the record store, there is a copy of The Coasters' "One By One" album, an album that was released in 1960.

Character error

While singing Hooked on Your Love, Delores can be seen singing some of Sister's parts.
