Continuity

When the woman in the bakery is decorating the cake, she begins writing "Happy Birthday" in block-style capital letters, but when the cake is revealed at the apartment, the writing is in a more cursive style, and only the first letter of each word is capitalized.
When the woman is writing on the cake, she is writing horizontal along left to right under the main floral decoration, but when the man opens the box, the writing is turned 90 degrees putting the main floral decoration to the right hand side as one reads the message.
When Danielle puts two pills on the bathroom sink in a closeup shot, they are right next to each other. The next closeup shot shows that the pills have moved farther apart, but the following long shot show them close together again. When Philip comes into the bathroom after hearing Danielle and Dominique arguing, the pills are again father apart.

Incorrectly regarded as goofs

After leaving Danielle's apartment, Grace and her mother exit that building, and Grace's mother suggests she should change clothes. Grace then reenters the lobby of the same building, to go up to her own apartment.

Although it may not be apparent, Grace and Danielle live in the same apartment complex, in the same building. The former "Alexander Hamilton" - now 36 Hamilton Avenue - in Staten Island is an H-shaped building, meaning apartments on its inner courts face each other across two courtyards. Therefore, Grace has a view across one of the courtyards directly into Danielle's windows. In addition, the elevators that characters take to and from both apartments are identical.
Danielle and Phillip have their date after their TV appearance in Manhattan. Phillip tells her he will get his car. After their date they are seen taking the Staten Island Ferry, yet he drives her to her apartment building in his car.

While no longer the case, before the terrorist attacks on 11 September 2001, vehicles were allowed on the ferries.

Crew or equipment visible

After Grace leaves her mother and gets into the phone booth to call a newspaper office, a cameraman and a moving camera are reflected in the shiny part of the phone and the glass door of the booth.
