The Deadly Trackers (1973)

Goofs

The Deadly Trackers

Edit

Continuity

Factual errors

With the final member of the gang, the killing is done with a shotgun. At no time in the movies did the sheriff have any gun other than a pistol or Winchester.
A powder burn mark is caused by exploding gunpowder becoming embedded in the skin. It won't come off by wiping with a wet cloth.
Aside from the impossibility of going through life with an approximately 30 lb. chunk of railway track instead of a hand, ChooChoo would not be able to put his shirt on or hold it over his head as he sank into the swamp.

Revealing mistakes

Obvious double for Sean Marshall on horseback.

Anachronisms

When Kilpatrick and Schoolboy fight by the river, a modern concrete road bridge can be seen in the background behind Kilpatrick.

Crew or equipment visible

As the outlaws are riding out of the town, right after they shoot the sheriff's wife and drop his son, the camera switches to a roof top shot. You can see the shadow of the camera on the ground, lower right of the screen.

Plot holes

The Mexican policeman could have tried to arrest Kilpatrick at the end.
It is unexplained how Frank Brand knew Kevin was the sheriff's son.

Character error

Gutierrez made much of Brand being released after his witness died, but the Mexican judicial system of the time was governed by Napoleonic Law which states that you are presumed guilty and must prove your innocence. Brand would still have to prove his innocence in court, which would be difficult for a notorious bandit chief.
