Sek Kin can fight but the rest of the action is disappointing

This is a Golden Harvest production directed by Lo Wei. Yes, that is him in the first scene playing the emperor. Nora Miao is spying on him. Sek Kin and company enter with a masked man, possibly the Hurricane, and they are given a secret mission. Nora reports to her people. Another swordsman is looking for Hurricane. He finds him and challenges him but quickly realizes he is not his match and rides off. Later he meets with Nora and gang.

Sek Kin prepared a road block to stop Hurricane. He makes him an offer but they cannot make a deal so they fight. This is the first real fight of the movie and I am not impressed. Most of the fight is using a cloth as a weapon which it is not. So far the movie looks and feels like something from the early 1960s rather than 1975. At about forty minutes there is a big fight sequence. Sek Kin fights with a weapon in each hand. Unfortunately the Hurricane is still using his rolled up cape as a weapon. The cloth cape can block swords and knock over opponents despite being cloth. Maybe it's magic cloth? Whatever, I do not like these fights.

My copy is a digital file that plays on a HDTV as a square video like the old VHS tapes. It is subtitled in Chinese and English. The subtitles are often chopped off on the sides due to the video cropping. I suspect there also exists a laser disk version of this movie in wide screen but cannot find it.

I rate this a bit below average for the year and genre due to disappointment with the fight scenes. Sek Kin alone does a good job in the fights which is doubly amazing because he was the oldest guy there. IMDB lists Kuan Tai Chen in this movie and he is not.
