Raquel Welch, Ernest Borgnine, Jack Elam, and Strother Martin in Hannie Caulder (1971)

Goofs

Hannie Caulder

Edit

Continuity

During the escape from the bank job in the opening scenes, Frank is shot in the left leg. 25 minutes into the film, Emmett is shown putting a bandage on Frank's right leg.
When Thomas Luther Price attempts to arrest Frank Clemens, in closeup, when he crosses his arms in front of himself, his left hand (holding the twice-folded wanted poster of Frank) is on top of his right wrist. The camera angle immediately shifts to a widened view that includes Frank, but now Thomas' right hand is on top of his left wrist, and the wanted poster in his left hand is folded only once.
During the gunfight with Frank, Hannie gets shot in the shoulder. But in the following scene, her wound is a graze to her upper arm.
When Frank is being buried, Rufus has stolen a Bible for Eb to read. Eb reminds Rufus that he can't read and slaps the Bible from Rufus' hand and it lands next to the grave near Frank's shoulder. In the next scene, the Bible is on the ground near the foot of the grave.
When Hannie arrives at the abandoned homestead, she checks out the well and goes to a small fire-pit and picks up a bloody rag. There is no smoke from the fire-pit then, but there is in subsequent shots.

Factual errors

Bailey (Christopher Lee) should proof-test the cylinder, not the barrel, to see if the revolver is safe to shoot.
When Bailey examines the Preacher's handgun, he says that it needs a new chamber. That revolver has 6 chambers in its cylinder. Bailey should have said that it needed a new cylinder.
When Hannie first learns to use the handgun, she's told by Price that it's a .45 caliber. When she fires this larger caliber handgun, there is absolutely no recoil.

Incorrectly regarded as goofs

During Frank's funeral, a cross marks a grave with the name "John Smith 1819-1870" spelled incorrectly as "Jhon Smith" in the foreground. EDIT: This is likely intentional on the part of the filmmakers, referring to the illiteracy of the time.

Anachronisms

In the opening few minutes, as the three bad guys are getting out of town after robbing the bank, they are riding across the desert and a radio antenna can be seen atop one of the mountains.
During the rape, when Hannie (Raquel Welch) screams, modern tooth fillings can be seen in her mouth.
During his showdown with Frank, Price is wearing a belt holding up his trousers under his gunbelt. Trousers in the 19th C. did not have belt loops, and belts were not used to support mens' trousers until the early 20th C.
When the brothers are fleeing the Federales, modern A-frame high voltage transmission towers can be seen in the background.
At the beginning, Hannie is briefly seen wearing pantyhose, which weren't invented yet.

Character error

In the beach shootout scene, a sailboat can be seen in the background.
