Bernie Casey in Gargoyles (1972)

Goofs

Gargoyles

Edit

Continuity

The cops' car speeding down a dirt road, chasing the dirt bikes, changes back-and-forth from a Chevy Impala to a Ford LTD a few times.
After the first gargoyle attack, the doctor asks his daughter to play back the cassette recording. The playback reaches the point where she had to flip the tape over during recording and continues playback without the tape being flipped.
In the aftermath of the desert battle scene, when Boley goes to check on the fallen biker his shotgun appears and disappears from his hand.
There are two errors in this scene that begins with time stamp (22:59), the station wagon's window was down as the Boley's race away from Uncle Willies, then a gargoyle smashes in the glass on the driver's side door. Boley puts the station wagon in reviews and guns it. There should be a gargoyle standing just to the left of the wagon's headlight beams as Boley backs up, the gargoyle is gone. Then they show the gargoyle walking bent through the brush like it was hurt.

Incorrectly regarded as goofs

When the first gargoyle is hatched it has boots/shoes on. This is not a goof. What appears to be "boots/shoes" is the baby gargoyles light or white fluffy fur or hair around the ankles above wide baby gargoyle feet.
At 31:55 all the gas station signs are in English. Perhaps they crossed the Mexico-US border back into Texas while being attacked. This is incorrectly called a goof. (24:00) The gas station and the Cactus Motel are still in the U.S. The Boleys have not yet left the U.S. for Mexico. The Sheriff's arm patch says: Glidding(s) Police.

Revealing mistakes

The cable/wire can be seen holding the gargoyle up when he flies at the end.
The gargoyle skeleton has animal like claws for feet but the living gargoyles have human like feet.
There are no vehicle license plates on Buddy's truck or the Doctor's station wagon.

Miscellaneous

In the scene where the police have arrested five bikers and have them lying on the ground, the sun is visible in the sky behind them, yet shadows can be clearly seen as though the sun were coming from behind the camera.
When Cornell Wilde parks in front of Uncle Willie's, his windows are rolled up and the car is pointing east. Later, when he runs away from the fire burning down Uncle Willie's, his car window is down and his car is pointing east.

Anachronisms

The queen gargoyle is the sole unhatched female among them and is about the same size as an average female human, yet she is somehow able to lay 1000's of eggs which each are about 1 third the size of herself.

Crew or equipment visible

At approximate time stamp (19:36) in the lower right hand of the frame just as the gargoyles attack the shed, the scene has the room shake causing the beams and roof to fall on Uncle Willy. Not only does the actor get buried under the debris so does the Director or member of the crew who doesn't get out of the way. He gets completely knocked to the floor and into the shot. He can be seen scrambling to get to his feet and out of the shot, but doesn't quite make it.
At time stamp (7:58) During the ride from the airport to Uncle Willie's place you can see the knee of the sound man in the backseat of the station wagon, behind Dr. Boley's (Cornel Wilde) head.
At 39:06 the cameraman's shadow can be seen on the tree.

Plot holes

The gargoyle wants to learn to read to prevent man from destroying them like before. The gargoyles recently hatched after 600 years. How could they be aware of any history between themselves and mankind.
