  • Boys sleep together. About five or six to a bed. Not sexual.
  • A girl runs into a boy's room saying that she went to a man's room because he called her there. She is crying, and she says he took off his robe and that she isn't "that" type of girl. It is implied through her dialogue that he tried to rape her.

  • Boys get into a fist fight. They are shirtless.

Violence & Gore

  • Two boys get into a boxing style fist fight. The boys are seen with bruises, but it is very fake and staged.

  • Includes long shots of bullying. Not gory.

Profanity

  • Many uses of British curses: blackguard. Bloody. Damn and hell are also used.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • People, including children, are seen smoking. Children drink ale quite often. A boy gets roaring drunk in one scene and vomits into a bush offscreen. Another boy - who looks to be about ten - gets drunk and sings childishly.
  • A boy gets drunk and tries to seduce a girl.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The bullying scenes may be intense. But it's a BBC, so it isn't too intense.
  • The violence when a father beats his son is a little brutal, but it happens off screen.
  • A boy is seen crying at one point.
