Scars of Dracula (1970)

Goofs

Scars of Dracula

Edit

Continuity

The crack in the glass of Sarah's portrait seems to change position several times....The frame is round, and the glass could easily move position in the frame if it was not fixed in tightly, which it appears not to be.
On the battlements as Dracula is burning close ups when his face is visible, show him bare handed but when he's seen from the back or with his hands over his face they're bandaged and in long shot when he's alight it looks as if he's got gloves on.
Early in the film, the villagers goes to the castle in broad daylight to destroy Dracula. During this a couple of brief shots of the castle is shown, only they show the castle at night.

Revealing mistakes

Early is the film as Paul is aboard the out-of-control horse carriage (with the white horses) - watch as the cameraman flees out of their thundering path thinking, quite possibly, he will be run over.
As the villagers leave the castle after setting fire to it, their shadows can be seen on the "sky", revealing it to be a painted backdrop.
During a close-up of one of the mutilated corpses in the church, it is possible to see a pulse in the victim's neck.
When the Burgomaster is banging on the bedroom door after chasing his daughter up the stairs, the entire wall - supposedly stone - shakes.
When Tania visits Paul in his room, she walks to the window and her reflection is visible in the mirror. Vampires supposedly cast no reflection.

Miscellaneous

In the resurrection scene, Dracula's cape is the one and only article of clothing seen on the stone slab along with remnants of his dried and powdered blood. When the bat drips blood onto Dracula's blood, he reforms into his body and is seen completely dressed wearing a shirt, jacket, trousers, and shoes.

Anachronisms

When Paul's out-of-control carriage careers through the forest it comes to a modern 20th-century swing-gate barrier.

Audio/visual unsynchronised

Early in the film, the villagers go to the castle in broad daylight to destroy Dracula. During this, a couple of brief shots of the castle are shown, only they show the castle at night.

Crew or equipment visible

When Klove is preparing to make a bed for Simon, and when he says 'The young lady will be quite comfortable', the shadow of a microphone is visible in the left upper corner of the screen.

Errors in geography

Paul arrives in the village well after nine o'clock in the evening. He is thrown out by the landlord, and goes to Dracula's castle. He arrives there the same evening, so Dracula's castle shouldn't really be that far away from the village. When Simon and Sarah leave Dracula's castle in the morning, they don't arrive in the village before it's evening again, although they made the whole trip in Dracula's coach.

Boom mic visible

Just after Simon has given his speech at the party, the shadow of the boom mic is seen on the wall behind him.
