Bananas (1971)

Goofs

Bananas

Edit

Continuity

During the montage of Mellish training with the rebels, he is standing in the chow line with a plate. When the cook dishes out his meal, the overhead shot shows Mellish holding an army-style mess kit. He asks, "What the hell is this stuff anyhow?", and he is back to eating off the plate.
When Fielding is offering Nancy some ribs, he has his hand on his collar. In the next shot, his hand is by his side.

Audio/visual unsynchronised

When Fielding is driving his Volkswagen and talking, there is a shot where his lips clearly aren't moving.

Crew or equipment visible

There is a camera shadow visible on a wall when Fielding goes to his fridge.
When the camera pans from Howard Cosell to the entrance in the opening scene, one of the auxiliary film cameras is visible in the crowd.

Errors in geography

When Mellish accidentally injects everyone with sodium pentothal during an abduction on a street in San Marcos, there is a blue station wagon parked in front of them with a New York State license plate.
During the riot scene at the "embassy," the firefighter hosing down the crowd has LBFD on his turnout coat. That likely stands for Long Beach Fire Dept. The embassy is presumably located in New York which would have NYFD firefighters. (Embassies are ALWAYS in national capitals, such as Washington DC. If a foreign government has representatives in another city, such as NYC, it would be as a consulate, not an embassy.)
Mellish says he's going to picket an embassy, but the rally he attends is at UN Plaza.
