One of the escaping prisoners is shot from behind and falls face-down. Although there is an exit wound in his right abdomen, there's no visible entrance wound in his back.
Pitman escapes from prison on a mule, which he trades in for a horse at the widow's ranch. Lopeman follows on a horse, and tells the widow he recognizes the mule she has as having been "in jail". But when Lopeman rides back after finding Pitman's body, it is loaded on a mule while Lopeman still rides his horse.
When Pitman is getting beaten up by three men in the prison yard during a heavy rainstorm, there is bright sunshine casting distinct shadows behind them.
In the initial armed robbery, the robbers fail to take away the firearms of the family they have just robbed. In real robberies, the victims are usually tied up, to delay raising the alarm.
