Standard Latino Zorro co-produced by Spain/Italy and professionally directed by Jose Luis Merino

Run-of-the-mill Zorro with adventures , noisy action , fencing and spectacular scenes . It is a routine action adventure starred by Charles Quiney as the masked adventurer , being freely based on Johnston McCulley novel . It is set in 1848 after the defeat of Mexico against Texas thanks to Sam Huston , and then California becomes in an independent state . In a little town lives poweful authorities : Mariano Vidal Molina , Luis Marin , Antonio Jiménez Escribano who plan to take the gold of the prospectors and exploit the villagers. Then , there appears a stranger called Antonio Sandoval : Charles Quiney who befriends two prospectors : Pasquale Basile , Lea Nanni . Then , Antonio's father, judge Jose Sandoval is killed , then his son seeks for justice and vengeance .

This Spaghetti/Chorizo Zorro is plenty with thrills , sword-play , go-riding , shootous , nice score from Alessandro Alessandroni and lots of action . Routine and inferior Spanish/Italian co-production stars Charles or Carlos Quiney and middling directed by the craftsman Jose Luis Merino . This is a sequel to Zorro's Latest Adventure 1969 holding similar actors , plot and production design. The synopsis sounds plain and simple enough with the tradtional confrontation between good guys and bad guys. This Zorro was regularly played by Charles Quiney , he took a chance and jumped from warlike movies : Hell Commandos , When Heroes die to play adventures as Tiger of Kyber , Robin Hood and various Zorros . As he performed three Zorros : Zorro's Last Adventure 1969 , El Zorro rider of vengeance 1971 , and Zorro of Monterrey . As he appeared almost exclusively in films directed by Jose Luis Merino , in fact Quiney was his fetish actor , and he was even known as the Spanish Errol Flynn.

Zorro character has been adapted in multiple films throughout a long cinematic history : the silent classic "Mark of Zorro" 1920 by Fred Niblo with Douglas Fairbanks , the best : "Mark of Zorro" 1940 by Robert Mamoulian with Tyrone Power , Basil Rathbone , Linda Darnell and "The Legend of Zorro" 2005 by Martin Campbell with Antonio Banderas , Catherine Zeta Jones , Rufus Sewell, Pedro Armendariz , Tony Amendola . And European Zorros as "Vendetta of Zorro" by Joaquín Romero Marchent with Frank Latimore , Paul Piaget , Robert Hundar . "Zorro versus Maciste" by Umberto Lenzi with Pierre Brice , Alan Steel , Moira Orfei . "Zorro versus three Musketeers" by Umberto Lenzi with Gordon Scott , Giacomo Rossi Stuart . "Zorro all Corte Di Spaña" by Luigi Capuano with Howard Ross . "The Zorro" by Duccio Tessari with Alain Delon , Ottavia Piccolo , Giacomo Rossi Stuart . "Son of Zorro" by Gianfranco Baldanello with Alberto Dell'Aqua Fernando Sancho , Elisa Ramírez, William Berger and many others .
