The Oblong Box (1969)

Goofs

The Oblong Box

Edit

Continuity

Elisabeth tells Julian she wants to start with sharing and she is looking through an opening in the building, but in the next shot which is centered on Julian, it is obvious she moved so camera can film. That happens again in the next shot.
Man's hair is wet from rain at the beginning of the movie, but when they enter the tavern/brothel, his hair is dry.

Revealing mistakes

When Sir Edward murders Heidi the prostitute, the special effects knife clearly sprays blood onto the actresses' neck well before it actually touches her.
Whenever murder with knife is shown, it is obvious that knife only applies paint to victims, and not any kind of wounds.
Obvious doll for a corpse in the river.
When Edward bites Julian's hand, it's clearly a fake part of hand.

Crew or equipment visible

When men arrive in front of the Julian's house with horses and start sneaking, a shot of house is shown and at the right a person can be seen moving from the camera view, probably someone from the set.

Plot holes

By killing a local to replace Edward's corpse Trench and Julian ran the risk of someone at the small viewing recognizing the stand in corpse as someone other than Edward.
It was never necessary to kill someone so the body could be viewed at Sir Edward's wake. They could have drugged someone and made them appear dead as they did when they attempted to free Sir Edward.
