When Simpson enters the tent in disguise to rescue West and Nocker, he is bashed on the head, wrapped in a carpet and West says "Get his clothes". With no intervening action or dialogue, he is then seen crawling out of the tent in uniform. He has had no time to recover, nor has it been established that the other two have discovered their mistake.
When Jane receives the letter from Beau telling her that he has joined the Foreign Legion, she takes the letter in her right hand and holds her napkin in her left as she reads it. But in the close up she is holding the letter and napkin in the opposite hands.
Zig Zig tells Knocker that Corktip wants to see him in the back room without being told by anyone.
While Lady Jane is travelling in the train, the guard pulls the blinds at the inner windows before he 'checks her ticket'. He does not pull the window blind down - yet it is still darkened in the compartment.
When Sergeant Knocker goes to Cork Tip's house he is wearing his medals. However when he is taken to the Oasis El Nooki he isn't wearing them. When he returns to the base after running away from his captors he is wearing them again.
The marching song played on the gramophone is called "Durch die grüne Heide", a song in World War II. Follow That Camel is set in 1906
In the opening credits, the initials after film editor Alfred Roome's name read B.G.F.E. However, they should read G.B.F.E. (Guild of British Film Editors).
Although the Legionnaires are supposedly out in the desert in the middle of nowhere when they are trying to navigate from Oasis El Nooki to Fort Zuassantneuf you can clearly see multiple footprints going in all directions on all parts of the sand clearly indicating that many of these scenes were not filmed in the middle of the Sahara desert.
When Commandant Burger lifts up the plug from the dry Oasis the line "Those English devils" can clearly be heard, but Kenneth Williams mouth does not move when this line is heard nor does the voice sound anything like his. It sounds like Phil Silvers voice, but he is in the background with Jim Dale so could not have seen what was going on (in the context of the film). It seems to be either an editing or dubbing error.
