The Born Losers (1967)

Goofs

The Born Losers

Edit

Continuity

At the beginning of the scene at the Shorns' house, the LP record Jodell is looking at while talking to her mother changes from David Rose's 'The Stripper' into 'Music to Strip By' and then back again. These were both actual stripper-themed LPs released in the 1960s (perhaps suggesting Mrs. Shorn's previous occupation?)
At the beginning of the movie, Billy Jack is carrying an M1 Garand semi-auto rifle, which he puts in the flat bed of his Jeep pickup truck. A short while later, when he is confronting the bikers in town, he takes the rifle out of the Jeep and it is now a M1903A1 US Springfield bolt action rifle and remains so for the rest of the movie.
When Vicky is getting out of the ocean and her jacket blows off her bike, it lands a few feet from the dead seal. In the very next shot, it's just inches from the seal.
As Gangrene beats up Vicky near the end of the movie, the blood on her mouth changes between shots.
After Speechless lands his bike in the pond, you see JoDell Shorn is seen just getting out of the car, in the next shot, she's in the crowd.

Factual errors

Billy Jack shoots Danny in the head with an M1 Garand from a distance of no more than 10 feet. Even assuming that the rifle was loaded with full metal jacket military-style rounds instead of game loads, the damage to the rear of Danny skull would have be immense and far bloodier than the scene reveals.

The .30-06 is one of the most potent rounds invented and it will cause a great deal of damage when it strikes flesh or bone. The shot at that range should exited the rear of the skull, destroying much of the back of his head.
When Vicky tries to escape after the biker shuts off the fuel valve, her motorcycle slows to a halt after the carburetors run empty. The sound of the motor slowing down to a stop is that of a 4 cycle engine. This bike had a 2 cycle motor, as did all Yamaha bikes in the '60s.

Revealing mistakes

Character error

When Vicky passes the motorcycle gang on the street, her white blouse is open. In the next shot of them chasing her, the blouse is completely buttoned up. Then when the gang's motorcycles catch up to her, the blouse is open again.
