Penelope (1966)

Goofs

Penelope

Edit

Continuity

The milk on Dr. Gregory's suit disappears and the suit is completely dry from one shot to the next.
In the beginning, Penelope is shown riding in the back seat of a 1960/1961 Ford taxicab. Moments later, she gets out of a 1966 Ford taxicab.
After the bank robbery and her visit to Bergdorf's, Penelope enters James' (Dick Shawn) office and tosses her mink onto a chair, and it promptly slides off. After an immediate cut to where she is lying on the shrink's couch, in the background, the fur is draped over the back of the chair.
Jonathan Winters' stunt double has noticeably shorter hair--almost a crew cut, in fact.
While chasing Penelope, her professor lowers a lectern and Penelope clutches her hands in front of her groin. After a cut, her hands are at shoulder level.

Revealing mistakes

At the second bank robbery, it is quite evident that James does not break through a plate glass window, but merely knocks down a "decal" as sounds of shattering glass are heard.
When Penelope and her husband are riding in the back of the police van near the end, the view out the back door windows of the van is visible behind them. The process shot being used was filmed from a vehicle moving forward, which would mean that the police van was driving down the street backwards.
At the Greenwich Village party, Penelope's basement apartment, which would be tiny in real life, is the size of a loft.

Character error

Dr. Mannix asks Penelope to lick an envelope for him. She does, but then he puts it in his lap, forgetting to seal it.
