Throughout the entire film, Loana is shown both with and without fur shoes.
According to the fossil record, dinosaurs and modern humans did not exist at the same time. There were no dinosaurs living 1 million years B.C. (Before Christ), they having become extinct 65 million years ago. However, modern birds are descended from one kind of dinosaur; specifically, the theropods (carnivorous dinosaurs).
Ceratosaurus became extinct before Triceratops lived, and thus they would not have been able to fight each other. Also, Ceratosaurus was much smaller than the one depicted in the film. A juvenile Allosaurus also appears in the film which, along with Ceratosaurus, was a dinosaur that lived in the Jurassic Period. Triceratops lived many millions of years later, in the Cretaceous Period.
The attacking Allosaurus in the film was only about twice as large as its human opponents when, in actuality, it was at least five times bigger. Also, the Triceratops towered over Tumak and Loana at the same height that the Allosaurus did, while the Ceratosaurus towered over the Triceratops. Allosaurus was much larger than Ceratosaurus. Of course, the Allosaurus in this film was a juvenile.
No pterosaur would ever have been able to lift up and carry away an adult modern human. In order to be able to fly, they had to be extremely lightweight, and even the largest pterosaurs known to exist weighed only about 100 kilograms. Aside from this, they were mostly fish-eaters or scavengers, so modern humans would have been completely off their menu. Also, pterosaurs did not have bat-like wings. Finally, pterosaurs did not have the ability to grasp and hold things with their feet.
Ignoring the fact that the prehistoric sea turtle genus Archelon became extinct tens of millions of years before the first modern humans appeared on Earth, the one depicted in this film is extremely large, more than 10 meters long. A real Archelon would have grown only up to 4.5 meters in length, and even then it probably would not have had the strength to pull its weight ashore. The giant sea turtle in this film moves rather nimbly on dry land.
During the ape-man fight in the film, one of the ape-men is thrown against the cave wall. The entire wall section then bounces when the ape-man hits it.
As Loana drags the unconscious Tumak away from the attacking Archelon, actor John Richardson (who plays Tumak) helps out actress Raquel Welch (who plays Loana) by pushing himself along with his right leg several times.
At some points in the film (the fights, such as when Tumak and Loana are crawling through a cave away from the Ceratosaurus vs. Triceratops fight, for example), some modern underwear is visible under the men's fur clothing; flesh-colored for Tumak and white for the other male characters.
All of the cave girls in the film are clearly wearing eye makeup and hairstyles that were current in the late 1960s, even to the point of ratting hair on the crowns of their heads and hair showing that it was colored or bleached as in a beauty salon.
During the cavemen's fight with the Archelon in the film, some of the rocks in front of the giant sea turtle keep moving between frames or disappear entirely.
When the boy tries to steal the meat from the fire and has his hand stepped on by one of the men, he screams and there is a lingering shot of his mouth, showing dental fillings.
All of the cave girls' legs in the film are shaved.
The cave girl Loana has hairless armpits.
In the sunlight, all of the cave girls' hair in the film is soft and shiny, with obvious professional haircuts.
