In the raft, Robin takes out his "How to Survive At Sea" manual. The first page shows a cartoon of a parachutist, but it's a different drawing in long shot.

When Robin finds a magazine on the jap submarine with instructions on building a pagoda, it is improbably in English.

Through the entire movie, Rob had the whistle around his neck, but he lost everything in the raft except his toothbrush. However, there are various pieces that continue to float around him, and it's not until after he has ransacked the sub that the whistle actually makes its first appearance, making it more likely he got the whistle from the sub.

When Tanamashu is "talking" to Kabuna, he is speaking in English, a language which he wouldn't speak to his God with. However, this could easily be explained as Wednesday, herself, could speak English "fluently," as well as all the other tribal women doing the same. It's also a fact that Tanamashu had heard other dialects of English since he did recognize that Kaboona spoke, out loud, with a "white-man dialect." Also the fact that he had an umbrella over his head almost constantly, and that he recognized a torpedo makes it apparent that, despite the relative uniqueness of the tribe, they have had considerable contact with the rest of the world, making the English talking to Kaboona more understandable.

The book in the survival kit shows what the narrator says before changing shots in the first few lines, but after that, the text repeats the first page over and over again.

The magazine Rob uses as a reference for his house has English text, something that would be completely out of place on a WWII Japanese submarine.

During Rob's first night on the island, he says "When in soup, might as well enjoy flavor," but his lips aren't moving.

Robin must have had an unlimited supply of razor blades when he ditched in the ocean. If he had found any on the submarine- they undoubtedly would have been rusted and useless.

When he's finished writing the letter to his fiance, Robin checks the time on his watch before stuffing it in the bottle. Living on a desert island he would have no need for a watch.
