The Brides of Fu Manchu (1966)

Goofs

The Brides of Fu Manchu

Edit

Continuity

When Shiva is tied to the trap door, the two guards walk directly over the snake pit without falling in. This is confirmed when she is cut loose and slides down into the pits.

Factual errors

The French Foreign Legion soldiers are armed with British made Short, Magazine, Lee Enfield rifles (SMLEs). The Legion never used this weapon. They should be equipped with the French made Lebel Model 1886 M93 rifle, which was in service right up to 1940.
Otto Lentz refers to the "British Broadcasting Company". The 'C' in 'BBC' stands for "Corporation".

Anachronisms

All the Brides, including the 2 leading women, were dressed and coiffed strictly in 1966 styles, which worked against the period flavor of the piece.
The long shots outside the Tower of London show 1960s cars passing over Tower Bridge.
While the on location scenes are correctly dressed in Thirties styles, contemporary 1960s television aerials can frequently be seen on the roofs of buildings in the background.
