¿Sabías que...?
- CuriosidadesWriter, Producer, and Director Jonathan Miller explained that the reason that none of the actors or actresses (even those playing non-human characters) wore costumes aside from Victorian period dress, was that he thought it was ridiculous to get big name stars to play parts (as he did in this movie and MGM had done in Alicia en el país de las maravillas (1933)) and then cover them up in big costume animal heads so they were unrecognizable.
- PifiasIn the scenes with the Mock Turtle, his legs are crossed in all the long shots, but in close-up shots, his legs are in a completely different position; without there being enough time to have changed them from one shot and another.
- Créditos adicionalesThe "cast in order of appearance" is slightly incorrect. The cast lists the Mock Turtle (Sir John Gielgud), the Gryphon (Malcolm Muggeridge) and the Executioner (David Battley) in that order. In fact the Executioner appears first in the scenes with the King and Queen of Hearts, and then the Gryphon appears in order to take Alice to the Mock Turtle, who appears last.

One of a kind Alice
I'm not sure I completely buy Jonathan Miller's account of the book, but his interpretation (as he explains it on the commentary track) is pretty wonderful on balance. It's funny, surprising, beautiful and mostly about the nature of dreams. The cast, for fans of British movies and TV of the period, may have never been equaled. There's one from "Help", there's one from "A Hard Day's Night", there's the midget from "The Prisoner!" Wonderful. The only real question is "Where's Dudley Moore?" At any rate, I just found out about this movie, it's only been out on DVD for a year or two but it's one I think I will always treasure.
