In the first scene of the movie, the corporal arrives at the repair yard, and the foreman ignores him, he angrily tosses his freshly lit cigarette away. It lands on the plate of a German officer having lunch. His aide picks up the cigarette, and walks to the corporal to confront him. In this 12 seconds of time, the corporal already has another lit cigarette in his mouth, without any sign of a lighter or a match going off. It's also a character error: cigarettes were prized treats on the front, and no soldier in their right mind would've thrown one away like that.
Most of the german soldiers seen carrying hungarian produced FÉG 35M bolt-action rifles.
