The "sea monster" shown briefly near the end of the film is actually footage of one of the gill-men from City in the Sea (1965).
In the credits for the TV version entitled "Space Monster", Russ Bender and Baynes Barron are credited as "Russ Fender" and "Baynes Barrow", respectively.

Missiles that are shown in this movie... The Redstone missile is shown first. The Faith One spaceship that explodes near the beginning is a Thor missile. Random shots of a Vanguard missile and a V2 rocket. An Atlas takes the space crew into outer space.
