Rance shoots Linc in the arm, then throws the pistol in the dirt, after which Linc picks up the pistol and fires seven shots from it, for a total of eight shots from what must be presumed to be a six-shooter.
In the opening scene, a wagon is swept down a heavy current with a man clinging to it. The wagon moves rapidly with the current until Charles Bronson swims up for a rescue. During the rescue, the wagon stands completely still, magically defying the still fierce current.
In the final standoff between Linc and Rance: as Rance falls forward to the ground, his "mark" is clearly visible at his feet.
