Goofs

The Raven

Edit

Continuity

When Jack Nicholson's character climbs out of the window to go to Dr. Craven's room, he goes around a corner then a part of the ledge breaks away. Estelle screams as he's stumbling even though she cannot see around the corner.
At about 29:18 into the movie, Dr. Craven has just knocked out Grimes with a green laser beam from his index finger. Grimes is on his back on the ground with his hands on his head and his shirt up over his chest. The next second, from the next camera angle, Dr. Craven gets up and Grimes' hands are at his sides and his shirt is rearranged back to just above his knees.
When the group is tied in castle of Dr. Scarabus, Dr. Bedlo is shown without a hat, but in the next shot he has a hat on his head.
The amount of milk in Dr. Craven's glass increases from one shot to another.
When Rexford arrives in Estelle's room, a cut to the next shot is made after she screams, but it's clearly not synchronized with the last shot.

Revealing mistakes

When Dr. Erasmus is on the chandelier and Dr. Scarabus makes it fall, Dr. Erasmus is clearly replaced with a doll.
Craven gives the raven a glass of wine, but when it drinks from it, drops of water fall from its beak.
The dialogue of Craven's servant Grimes has a much drier sound than the others, as the actor was dubbed over.

Anachronisms

After Dr. Bedlow has been changed back to a human, he is talking with Dr. Craven when he notices a small framed color photograph of Lenore on a table. This film takes place long before photography was even invented.

Crew or equipment visible

During the end battle between the two magicians a member of the film crew can be seen hiding behind the wall of the central fireplace all other characters are on the balcony.
Strings attached to the chair Vincent Price is sitting on are clearly visible at the end of the chair flying scene.
A thin string can be seen tied to the raven's leg when he first flies across the room, and when he is perched on the chair.
