A man sculptures a woman model. He tells her that there will be no nude modeling. She lowers the top of her dress to reveal her bare shoulders.

A man and a married woman become romantically involved with one another. 2 scenes where they embrace one another are shown. The man kisses the woman's neck twice, but it done very tastefully. No nudity is shown.

A man brutally stabs a woman to death. The scene could be frightening for young children but it is very mildly acted, and frankly, the effects are very unconvincing. The woman is seen dead on her bed, but no blood is shown. It is later implied that the woman was beheaded after the murder. Again this is not shown, but the woman's head is later implied to have been concealed within a bust statuette; at which point the woman's eye is revealed inside the bust. Some blood is shown, but it is again not very convincing. Could be frightening for very young children.

At one point a man asks for and drinks cognac.

Some scenes of cigars being smoked are shown.

The entire movie has an air about it that may frighten young children. Though the movie is not overtly gory, the implication of violence and the fear that comes with it could be also be frightening.

The scenes where the Horla enters and exists are disturbing. The Horla is never seen by the audience, only heard. The times during which the Horla convinces the magistrate to do his acts of evil are disturbing.

The murder sequence could be very frightening for young children.

The reveal of the woman's severed head inside of the statuette is mild, but could be frightening for young children, due to the strong implication of extreme violence and the nature of the scene itself. The way the scene is shot alone is very frightening.
