Thérèse and Allan try to cross the Demarcation line by train: in Vierzon the Germans check who is passing. This line was a boundary between the occupied zone in the north and the so-called "Free zone" in the south. However since the movie occurs in spring 1944, the line does not exist any more: it ceased to be effective in March 1943 after the Germans invaded the Free zone in November 1942.
