To raise money three nuns set out in looking for Toreros to participate at a Becerrada and hire ¨Juncal¨ to organize it
ma-cortes28 August 2017
The flick starred by a bunch of bungling nuns contains silly incidents , fun , tongue-in-cheek , grotesque situations and above all , humor . This agreeable picture concerns about a group of very religious as well as botcher nuns from a poor convent run by a stiff Superior Mother (Ana Maria Noé) where lives a lot of elderly men . As three nuns (Nuria Torray , Maria José Alfonso , Amparo Soler Leal) go out in looking for Toreros to participate in a Becerrada . They contact to ¨Juncal¨ (Fernando Fernán Gómez) a rogue hustler to organize the Becerrada but things go awry . As the group of nuns prepare a bullfighting or ¨Corrida¨ and get to hire three famous bullfighters : Antonio Ordóñez , Antonio Bienvenida , Juan García 'Mondeño' .

It takes a simple concept , a poor convent , nuns and their retirement house and to raise money , as they have schemed , planned and proceeded a strange scheme and in similar style to Italian classy comedies . It is a comical and sometimes disconcerting account of a bunch of nuns from the personal , social , cultural , and economic perspective , because needing all of them , urgently , amount of money to resolve their troublesome retirement house . This film packs attractive images , silly situations , ; but it especially contains catching touches of humor and irony . Interesting as well as funny screenplay by prolific writers Jaime De Armiñan , Ricardo Muñoz Suay and Jose Maria Forque himself . Filmmaker Forque delivers an enjoyable comedy in which the main and support cast are frankly outstanding . The main attraction resides in its excellent cast in which stand out some notorious actors . There are some nice jokes in the film being adapted to Spanish characteristics by that time and the cast , playing eccentric characters , make a cosy fit . The film has style , mastery of the scenes , amusement ,entertainment and funny set pieces . It has an excellent cast and adequate performances , excellent story , real sly humor in the Spanish style with Hispanic characters , very mocking and mischievous spirit at times . Special mention for Fernando Fernan Gomez and Amparo Soler Leal . The first performs one of the best works of his wide and long career . Fernan Gomez composes, creates and designs a picaresque character destined to endure , "Juncal" is a strange figure , do not know if we like it or repel us , but we are always interested in his activities and to be continued by the fantastic series ¨Juncal¨ directed by Armiñan himself who convinced the TVE of making a mini-series starred by Paco Rabal . Also worth a mention is the excellent presentation carried by Manuel Alexandre as an entrepreneur and Agustin Gonzalez as a botcher stage actor . And , of course , other fabulous players as Irene Gutiérrez Caba , Alicia Hermida , Nicolas Perchicot , Rafaela Aparicio , Félix Fernández , Conrado San Martin , among others . And Chus Lampreave and the great Jose Maria Rodero as two ambitious brothers who want to take the convent .

This film is made to entertain , and this movie , especially for a good time and a pleasant entertainment . And it results in a highly original yarn , with a fine message , which is very-well delivered . Sitting in a strange middle ground between the completely absurd and the stylishly cool . This film moves in fits and starts most of which would be desirable and some moments of enjoyment and others quite a few ridiculous . The motion picture was professionally directed by prolific filmmaker Jose Maria Forque . José María Forqué was born in Zaragoza , being father of actress Verónica Forqué and director Álvaro Forqué . He was a director and writer, known for filming some classic Spanish films , such as Accidente 703 (1962) , Amanecer en Puerta Oscura (1957) , Un Millon En La Basura and especially Atraco a Las Tres . And shot successful TV series : Miguel Servet and Ramon Y Cajal . He also filmed some international co-productions such as Tarot with Gloria Grahame , Mujer De Tierra Caliente with Stuart Whitman , Laura Gemser and El Ojo Del Huracan or In the eye of hurricane with Tony Kendall , Jean Sorel .
