Goofs

One of the Japanese soldiers is armed with a German MP38/40 machine pistol. Only the Bulgarians and the Germans used the MP38/40.

There are six prisoners in front of a firing squad, but only five soldiers in the firing squad each fire one shot. The sixth rifle is visible to the left through the foliage when the rifles are raised.

Leo McKern's character remarks that "2 million Jews would disagree" when arguing with Baker about the upcoming executions of 2 villagers. At this stage of the war little was known of the concentration camp horrors that were only revealed at wars end.

Set in Burma but the soundtrack of birds in the jungle includes the Kookaburra which is native to Australia and only found in Australia.
