Western burlesque.
Mozjoukine24 December 2011
Represented as the first Italian western, this is actually a rather slack cowboy movie burlesque.

Neapolitan widow Picca (in De Sica films at this time) inherits the sheriff job from her dead husband and sorts out the saloon heavies. Singing bandidto Tognazzi in black shows up after a while, for some unconvincing gunfights and a half hearted attempt at plot, wound up with a semi serious shoot out at the OK Cornal (sic) and chase finale.

Not particularly funny, relying on the the gag of Italian cowboys who break out in "Faniculi,Fanicula" and eat the pasta that Pica dries in the jail cell, going with burlesqued western movie action.

Modest production values and OK score might have worked with more certainty of tone.
