Great film this, a danish classic. Perfect balance of poetic romance scenes, including full moon walks, swan statues, parks, moonlight sonatas, beautiful women, grumpy old uncles… everything.

Hilarious comedy from Dirch Passer, of course, but this is not solely a Passer flick. Legendary Ove Sprogøe plays Charles. Mr. charming and dead to early Ebbe Langberg is Peter, and they both want to marry Susse Wold and Ghita Nørby.

Here is also a great performance from Holger Juul Hansen whom we love so much in the series «Matador» and «Riget» (Lars von Triers «The Kingdom»).

A must see!

A cult classic

Danish comedy can't get better than this.

The Scanian comedian Nils Poppe seem to have loved Dirch Passer, since he later made this like several other Passer movies into theater at his yearly televised show at Fredriksdal (Helsingborg).

The exchange with a police officer in this movie, when the main characters jump off a streetcar, is really typical for Danish mentality:

"- It is forbidden to jump off at that speed!

  • Well we are in a hurry!

  • Well, yes, that's something else."

The scene where Dirch Passer pours tea into a hat is of course also comedy gold.

Can't recommend this enough.
