June Wilkinson said when she was in Brazil filming Macumba Love (1960), producer Albert Zugsmith heard about her filming a topless beach scene and talked her into doing this movie. She admitted in an interview that it was pretty bad, and the only redeeming quality was right at the very end when she dives off a diving board naked at a nudist camp. She said that shot alone was worth the price of a ticket.
It broke records in New York in a theater on 42nd Street where it ran for years. At the time of release, there wasn't much nudity in films so the inserted nude scenes in this was a really big thing. Men kept going back to see June Wilkinson naked on the diving board at the end of the movie. They'd even buy a ticket and go in late just to see that scene.
