Goofs

Never Love a Stranger

Edit

Continuity

In the final scene, an injured Kane drives a short distance past deserted commercial buildings, weaving through concrete pillars before smashing into one. However, the back projection footage used is of busy street scenes, clearly shot at an entirely different location.
Steve McQueen enters an apartment, a gun is put on him and he puts his hands in his pockets but in a long shot his hands are by his side.

Anachronisms

In the opening scene of the movie (the scene is titled on-screen as "New York 1912"), Frances Kane is shown walking down a city street toward the midwife's home. In the far background to the left is the rear of a parked car from the 1950s.
In the second scene of the film, as Frances Kane is dying, the Catholic priest administering last rites is wearing eyeglasses whose frame dates from the 1950s -- even though this part of the story is set in the New York City of 1912.

Audio/visual unsynchronised

Whe Lina Milan is singing the title song,an accordion can be heard on the soundtrack but there is no accordionist visible in the backing group.
The gangster who is shot while in the barber's chair reacts to the first two gunshots before they are heard.

Crew or equipment visible

When Frankie and Martin are talking in the alley when they first meet, shadows of the boom equipment, the camera, and the cameraman are visible on the brick wall.
