The winning hand that Bugs has in the climactic poker game with Nasty Canasta that he describes as a "Two Pair. A Pair of Ones and another Pair of Ones" is called a Quad of Aces, the highest value of a Four of a Kind that can only be topped by a Straight Flush or a Royal Flush.
Bugs is off to meet his cousin Herman in San Francisco when he discovers the gold. San Francisco was known as the Barbary Coast in the gold rush days, named for the Barbary pirates and their notoriety.
Although Bugs makes a cute reference to the tele-o-phone, it, and the slot machine, were not yet invented at the time of the California gold rush (1848). However, almost 40 years later, the first slot machine was invented in...San Francisco, California (1887).
Although the design and background artwork was moving into mid century abstract style, the representation of the gold rush era saloon, with its gaudily opulent (and usually red) furnishings is fairly accurate. There were hundreds of establishments like these, all eager to part 49'ers with their cash.
