When Madden shoots one of the henchmen, he grabs his right arm. Shortly afterward, the henchman is holding his left arm.

In the Proclamation read by Marshal Jim Feathergill regarding the land owned by Tucker Ordway, he refers to the current Secretary of State as James J. Blaine, as that is what is signed at the bottom of the page. His middle initial is actually G.

Obvious stunt double for Larry Madden (Randolph Scott) in the fight scene with the deputy under the wagon. As the wagon moves forward and the deputy grabs onto the wagon from beneath and the wagon clears them, it pulls them along behind it. The stunt double looks up and his face is visible, which is clearly not Randolph Scott. In addition, the double's hair is dark, while Scott's hair is silvery gray. Also, neither the shirt nor trousers that the double is wearing match what Madden is wearing and the brown dirt stains on the double's clothes are not duplicated on Scott's clothes. Finally, the double's gun belt is turned all the way around during the fight so that the buckle is at his back, while the shots showing Scott show the gun belt still correctly oriented.

When Madden convinces the deputy to confess that The Peso Kid killed Rex Willard and the crowd leans forward to hear him repeat it louder after Madden commands him to do so, a man in the crowd directly behind the deputy and facing the camera mouths the exact words that the deputy is speaking as he speaks them: "It was The Peso Kid that killed Willard."

When Madden (Randolph Scott) throws a silver peso down on the dirt street to challenge the Peso Kid, the coin rings like it was dropped on concrete.
