The cartoon was key animated entirely by Gerry Chiniquy. The reason for this is because director Friz Freleng was re-assembling his animation unit after the six month shutdown of Warner Bros. cartoons in 1953.
The full score for this cartoon, minus the title card music, can be heard on the album "The Carl Stalling Project Vol. 2: More Music from Warner Bros. Cartoons 1939-1957".
Mid century background artwork is depicted here, as design became more modern and abstract, but Sylvester is still his usual feline self.
Although Butch is depicted as a proud father, no mention of a Mrs. Bulldog is ever made. At the time of this short, the production code generally demanded matrimony before babies (even in cartoons) so how this story line slipped past the censors is a mystery.
