Goofs

The Girl in the Red Velvet Swing

Edit

Factual errors

In a restaurant scene near the beginning of the film, architect Stanford White castigates a magazine editor for not including in an article about him the Boston Public Library, which he calls "the best thing I ever did." White's partner, Charles Follen McKim designed the Boston Public Library, not White.

Anachronisms

In a scene in a restaurant near the beginning of the movie, architect Stanford White receives a copy of Collier's magazine with a drawing of Evelyn Nesbit on the cover, drawn by Charles Dana Gibson. The scene takes place in 1901, but the famous drawing was not created by Gibson until 1905.
At approximately 25:15, as Evelyn enters the toy shop, to pay an unannounced visit on Stanford White, and late model (1950s) automobile can be seen moving from left to right in the background.
