James Stewart, Dan Duryea, Joanne Dru, and Gilbert Roland in Thunder Bay (1953)

Goofs

Thunder Bay

Edit

Continuity

After trying to blow up the oil rig and a fight with Steve (James Stewart) Phillipe (Robert Monet) falls into the sea. Steve ties a rope to the rig and the other end to himself and dives in to try and save him but without success. When he climbs back on to the rig the rope is no longer tied to him.

Factual errors

The townspeople secure a restraining order from the state to stop the blasting in the Gulf of Mexico. Since the blasting is further than 3 miles from shore, the state would not have jurisdiction- these are Federal waters.

Miscellaneous

In Steve's cabin on the oil rig, which would realistically only have a port hole as a window, there's such strong shadows of Steve and Kermit (Jay C Flippen) which would only be there if there was a large window.
When Steve and Gandi (Dan Duryea) arrive at the jetty shadows are cast from the river across the boat to the jetty but when Stella (Joanne Dru ) comes out of the cabin on the jetty side her shadow is cast on the cabin wall.
