When the Essen's main guns fire on Brown at the Resolution inlet, three guns per turret are visible, but when the Essen is seen sinking after the final battle with the British task force, only 2 guns per turret are visible.
While Brown is firing on the ship, his rifle keeps changing from a German Mauser 98 to a British Enfield. This becomes apparent in the close up views where the rear bridge peep sight is visible. The Mauser rear sight is on the barrel.
At the end, when Brown is receiving his V.C at supposedly, Buckingham Palace, the Uniform Brown is wearing is wrong, during the Winter Month's, Royal Naval Personnel wear a Black Jersey cut straight across, almost collar bone to collar bone level, the Black Jersey Brown is wearing, is an American type Naval Jersey, worn high up round the neck, he would not wear such a Jersey. His Leading Seaman's rank badge is also absent from his left arm.
At around the 29 minute mark, the Essen fires on HMS Ansbury which is steaming towards the German ship to engage it in combat. A few moments later the German salvo explode in the water, but the British ship is stationary in the water when it should be moving.
Michael Rennie and Wendy Hiller are on a train. A shot of the train approaching shows 3 white discs on the front of the engine - one in front of the chimney and one on either side of the smoke box. There's scenes of Michael and Wendy chatting in their carriage then a shot of the train approaching a station but now the signal disc on the chimney has disappeared.
The start of the film, when seen on television, was in reverse as the number on the front of the engine 30119 was reversed and the hinges on the front of the smoke box were on the left instead of the right.
As the train sets off Michael Rennie jumps aboard into the compartment where Wendy Hiller is. Close ups of them alternate but the alternate shots of them in the carriage and the view through the window gives the impression that the train is travelling crab wise.

The action is meant to take place on a volcanic atoll in the Pacific. When they sail out for the final battle the cliffs in the background are sedimentary chalk cliffs.
Galápagos (emphasis on 2nd syllable) is consistently mispronounced as ga-la-PAY-gos (emphasis on 3rd syllable, and vowel sound wrong). This may, of course, have been a contemporary pronunciation for Brits, even though - then as now - wrong in Spanish.
