When the investigators confront the Phantom in the lab, the reporter is seen near the left side of the group in shots from behind, but on the opposite side in shots from the front.
The character identified as Major Andrews wears a silver oak leaf rank insignia which identifies him as a Lieutenant Colonel. A Major would have a brass oak leaf insignia.
In the lab, a pair of scissors becomes magnetically attached to the spacesuit, yet only a few moments earlier, when Major Andrews tried unsuccessfully to cut the suit using the scissors, there was no magnetic effect on them at all.
At approximately 41:40 into the film, it appears that Major Andrews (James Seay) has possibly 'broken wind' (flatulated) due to the facial reactions of Noreen Nash sitting to his left. She repeatedly reacts as though she smells something foul and visibly gives the Major several 'dirty looks' in the next few shots. No, she wasn't reacting to gas; it was the dialog and his acting that caused the stink.
The Phantom's spacesuit is highly radioactive, forcing the scientists to handle it with tongs and transport it in a radiation-proof box. Yet back in the lab, and despite the fact that they repeatedly say that the suit's radiation is lethal to humans, they not only keep it out in the open and hold it in their hands wearing nothing more for protection than rubber gloves, but when the suit dissolves they stand breathing in fumes that would necessarily also be fatally radioactive. Also, despite its being so intensely radioactive, the suit doesn't contaminate anything it comes into contact with.
One witness questioned by police Lieutenant Bowers describes the alien as a "giant of a man", yet later when the alien is seen jumping down from some stairs into an empty lot and takes off running and knocking over the photographer, the alien appears to be only of medium height.
