Elroy 'Crazylegs' Hirsch and Joan Vohs in Crazylegs (1953)

Goofs

Crazylegs

Edit

Continuity

(at around 1h 21 mins) In the Championship game, the announcer states that it is a scoreless game in the 2nd period with the Rams "on the move". Filiberto Van Braun then passes to Crazylegs for a touchdown, and Waterfield kicks the extra point. The scoreboard is then shown, and it indicates that the Rams are leading 7-0 with about 10 minute left in the 1st quarter.
During the latter part of the film, on numerous occasions the sportscaster doing the play-by-play indicates the point of where the play is to start, but that doesn't match what is shown in the ensuing video of the play. For example, at around 1h 21m the announcer says that the Rams have the ball on their 'own 47,' but the video shows the ball snapped from the opponent's 35 yard line.

Factual errors

At approximately the 32-minute mark in the film, envelopes addressed by Crazyleg's girlfriend, Ruth, are shown to indicate the various Marine Corps Bases where he has been stationed. One envelope has Camp Lejeune misspelled as "Camp LeJune."
When Hirsch is in the Marines and is part of a formation that is being drilled by a sergeant, the sergeant orders "Column Left" and the formation does "Left Flank."
In actual game footage, Norm Van Brocklin is shown wearing #25, but in re-creation shots he is wearing #11.
