Jeff Chandler, Suzan Ball, and Scott Brady in Yankee Buccaneer (1952)

Goofs

Yankee Buccaneer

Edit

Factual errors

Porter was stepfather to Farragut, not just another junior officer, and they did not serve on the same ship during the West Indian campaign.
There is no way one who was tortured on the rack would have been able to stand, much less fight afterwards.
Cannon were secured against rolling across the decks. The scene where Flint is pinioned by the loose cargo, barrels, and rolling cannon would not have happened.
Chief Petty Officer makes the comment, "If they knew how hard I worked for this rum, they'd make me an admiral for the effort." There were no admirals in the US Navy until Congress authorized the rank for David Farragut in 1862, following his service in the American Civil War.
