Goofs

The Wild North

Edit

Continuity

Early on, Brody's first name is said to be "Max" multiple times. At the end during the hearing, the one time the judge states his name, he says "Mike" Brody.
When Jules punches out Brody at the bar, the kitten runs off screen to the left. In the next shot, the kitten is back where it was, being held by the Indian Girl.
At the beginning, the snow-capped mountains in the background of the lake are exactly the same as at the end, which supposedly is months later.
During the last trip through the rapids, the canoe passes by the same pair of trees at least three times.
When Vincent is tending to the Father at the cabin, the cabin is dark inside, so he lights a lantern. The next scene shows Pedley coming up to the cabin on his dogsled in broad daylight. But when Pedley enters the cabin it is dark outside.

Factual errors

Although D Division was issued the broad-brimmed Stetson as a tryout in 1887, it was D Division that was sent to police the North Country that year, including the Klondike Gold Rush.

Revealing mistakes

When Vincent and Pedley are outside, it's stated the temperature is -31°. At that temperature, exposed skin becomes frostbitten in 5 to 10 minutes.

Anachronisms

The Mountie tunic is that of the pre-1904 North West Mounted Police, but the Stetson hat was not worn officially till after 1904.

Audio/visual unsynchronised

(at around 39 mins) The sound of several dogs barking is heard, but none of the sled dogs appear to be barking.

Character error

No human opens a grizzly trap with his hands. They made a special tool that was used to compress the springs.
