Goofs

Monkey Business

Edit

Continuity

When the kids tie up Hank, his coat is bungled up in the rope. After the cut when Barnaby comes out of the woods, the coat is smoothed out and the ropes are completely different around Hank.
Barnaby and Lois drive past same drug store twice.
When Edwina jumps over the fence, her pant legs are rolled up. When she walks towards the front door, the pant legs are unfolded. After she walks into the house, they're rolled up again.
When Barnaby and Lois leave the car lot in his new car, they cut in front of a large truck that turns off the street as they enter it. Further down the road they are seen passing the same truck off the left side of the road.
When one of the chimps gets out of her cage and messes around with chemicals, before the action cuts away to three scientists discussing a hair restoring formula, the large vial into which the ape has been pouring the chemicals is full to the brim. When it cuts back to the chimp in the laboratory, the same vial is only 2/3 full.

Incorrectly regarded as goofs

When Barnaby and Edwina emerge from his office to see that Oxley and the other scientists are behaving like children, a panel in the 'wall' to the right of the door moves, and a gap can be seen in the wall of the set looking into his office.

However, the panel can be seen to be nothing more than blinds on the office windows. Indeed, they are seen to be open just moments before and obviously were closed to help the baby to sleep.

Revealing mistakes

Before the baby walks into the house and lays beside Edwina, a shadow can be seen just inside the front door that moves further into the room.
After Hank has been "scalped", he is wearing a "mohawk skull cap" which wrinkles up when he turns his head.
When Edwina throws Barnaby out of the hotel room, he then tries to get back in, pushing on the door. The wall surrounding the door moves.

Character error

Near the end of the film, when Lois Laurel enters the board room, Mr Oxley addresses Lois as "Miss Monroe" rather than "Miss Laurel". Of course he doesn't.
Scientists refer to chimpanzees as monkeys. Chimpanzees are apes, not monkeys.
