The pistols and holsters used wouldn't have existed in the 1840s.
California would not have has short horn Hereford cattle in the 1840s.
The Russian Fort Ross is shown in a desert landscape with Indian teepees. Fort Ross is located in Northern California on the Sonoma County Coast surrounded by forest. The Indians in this area did not use teepees.
The bandits camp at night shows all the horses saddled at all times.
